Most people wanting to lose fat for a specific period do not open up their mind to actually trying to exercise. Exercising is the best way to lose fat and should be done by everybody regardless of their goals.
Exercising breaks down into two components and they should be done both. Strength training and cardio need to be done consistently if you want to lose a lot of fat in time for the summer. Strength training is frowned upon for losing fat especially by women who think they will become big and bulky. This is a false conception and strength training is a crucial factor in losing fat. Not only does it make your body, it also helps to raise your metabolism which enables you to burn more calories.
Strength training is important for getting your body ready for all the summer activities that you want take part in and enjoy. It will give you that last ounce of power you need to finish climbing that hill or completing that race.
Losing fat in time for summer means you have a deadline to aim for so you should therefore make it a habit. Working out will allow you to lose weight in a consist manner and you will have a new body to be proud of in a short period of time.
Motivation is the portion that ties all the other aspects together. Motivation is what makes you wake up at 6am to go do cardio on a rainy day instead of turning off the alarm clock.
Ask yourself the question why am I doing this. Write down a list of all the reasons you are trying to get in better shape and stick it everywhere. Make it a habit to look at it every morning and every time you do not feel like working out. This reinforces that you will lose body fat and get into that perfect shape for the summer.
